Red alert for those who think this natural product is a cure-all for medical conditions ranging from diabetes, weight loss and teeth-cleaning to skin problems. In a news report published on cnn.com, medical experts have warned users of the serious downside of apple cider vinegar. Dietician Carol Johnston, associate director of Arizona State University’s School of Nutrition and Health, refutes the claim that apple cider vinegar lowers blood sugar and helps pre-diabetics. And American Dental Association spokesperson Alice Boghosian points to the corrosive effect of vinegar and warns that you could be putting your teeth at great risk. The sour truth: don’t believe everything you read or hear; consult your doctor before buying stuff off the rack.
